Human remains have been discovered near to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's California home
The bones, which were found during landscaping construction in soil 2-3 feet deep, appeared to belong to a ‘young adult’ and were ‘very old’, a representative for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office told MailOnline.
It’s believed the remains could belong to a member of the Chumash tribe, a group of Native Americans who historically inhabited central and southern coastal regions of California.
A spokesman for the sheriff’s office said the bones’ origin would be confirmed following examination by a forensic anthropologist.
