Fans of Harry Potter queued for hours in pouring rain to get the first glimpse of New York’s shrine to the child wizard and the largest collection of related products in the world.
Inside, fans took selfies in front of a red telephone box that in the films transports witches and wizards to the Ministry of Magic while others donned knitted quidditch jumpers and checked out a stunning range of robes, hats and wands while sampling the wizards’ favourite drink at the Butterbeer bar.
The flagship store was due to open last summer but was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
