US President Joe Biden said the Queen reminded him of his mother and that she had asked about China's Xi Jinping and Russia's Vladimir Putin as they had tea at Windsor Castle.
Biden compared 95-year-old monarch to Catherine Biden, known as Jean by her family, who died aged 92 in 2010.
“I don’t think she’d be insulted but she reminded me of my mother, the look of her and just the generosity,” the president said before he boarded Air Force One for Brussels.
The president said that during their conversation the Queen also asked what life in the White House was like.
“We could fit the White House in the courtyard,” he said he told her, referring to Windsor Castle.
