Statue of George Floyd unveiled in New York for Juneteenth

A six-foot statue of George Floyd has been unveiled in Brooklyn as part of Juneteenth celebrations in New York.

The huge bust, created by American sculptor Chris Carnabuci from Confront ART, will be displayed at Flatbush Junction for several weeks before moving to Union Square.

Terrence Floyd, George Floyd’s brother, unveiled the statue on the new federal holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.

George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis by police officer Derek Chauvin who knelt on his neck and back for 9 minutes and 29 seconds
