Royal historian Robert Lacy has confirmed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didn’t speak to Prince Harry after Prince Philip’s funeral for fear the conversation would be leaked.
There was much anticipation that Harry’s return trip from the US could be used for a reconciliation between the brothers, but Lacey has now quashed any speculation.
In an updated version of his book, Battle of Brothers, currently being serialised in The Times, he wrote of William and Kate: “They told friends that they could see no point in talking to Harry, since any discussion of substance would go straight back to Meghan to be leaked out via Oprah [Winfrey] or some other tentacle of the Sussex network.”
