The Queen visited the home of Irn-Bru on the start of a four-day visit to Scotland.
Marking her first official visit north of the border since the death of her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, the 95-year-old monarch was joined by the Duke of Cambridge as she officially opened the AG Barr factory’s new process facility in Cumbernauld.
William took a sip and declared “you can taste the girders in it”.
Asked if he had tried Irn-Bru when he was a student at the University of St Andrews in Fife, he replied: “Not St Andrews,” but added that Irn-Bru was often a part of lunches during his time in the armed forces.
