Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka says every single player on the team is’ proud to play for their country’ after they masterminded a shock penalty shootout win over world champions France in the round of 16 at Euro 2020.
Arsenal’s Xhaka was a stand-out player in what he described as a ‘once in a lifetime performance’ by the Swiss who came back from 3-1 down to force the game into extra-time and then penalties.
Xhaka also spoke about the hard work that goes on behind the scenes and of his pride at reaching this point after 10 years as an international.
