NBA stars Kevin Durant and Isaiah Thomas were left stunned after discovering the details of Lionel Messi’s Barcelona contract.
Messi’s contract with the Catalan giants expired on 30 June and was worth $674million, the largest in sports history.
Durant of the Brooklyn Nets took to Twitter to call the figure ‘insane’, while Thomas of the New Orleans Pelicans joked that he’d get his kids to pursue football after seeing the figure.
Barcelona are currently still working on a potential deal to keep Messi at the club, while Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are reportedly ready to make Messi an offer.
