Met Office issues first ever extreme heat warning in the UK

The Met Office has issued its first ever extreme heat warning in the UK.

It covers southwest England, South Wales, West Midlands and part of Hampshire which have experienced temperatures upwards of 30C in recent days.

The warning stays in place until the end of Thursday with temperatures expected to drop on Friday. The Met warned that some people could experience ‘adverse health effects’ including sunburn and heat exhaustion.
