Stormzy is supporting 30 black students at Cambridge University with a £20,000 annual scholarship funded by his #Merky Foundation charity and HSBC.
The fund covers tuition fees and maintenance costs for 10 new students each year over the next three years. The British rapper described the initiative as an ‘incredible milestone’.
His original ‘Stormzy Scholarship’ scheme first launched in 2018 and supported six black students at Cambridge. The number of black students admitted into the university has risen in what has been dubbed the ‘Stormzy effect’.
