It’s the nearest thing to watching Superman you’ll ever see.
A man is dropped from a helicopter before beginning a deep dive for about 1000 metres at 250km/hour as he soars above the ski resort of Avoriaz in the French alps.
Meet Fred Fugen, a member of the Soul Flyers and one of the most talented and innovative skydivers, wingsuit pilots and BASE-jumpers in the world.
Fugen reached for the sky at a very early age thanks to his parents’ interest in parachuting, completing his first solo jump in 1996 at the age of 16 and his feet have barely touched solid ground since.
In 2004 he earned his place on the French national freefly team and won the first of many World Championships in Brazil later that year. He remained undefeated at World Championship level between 2004 and 2009.
