Harvey Weinstein has claimed allegations that he tried to sexually assault Angelina Jolie are ‘brazenly untrue’.
The actress, now 46, made the claim in an interview with the Guardian, saying the alleged incident occurred when she was 21 and working on the movie Playing By Heart.
She says Weinstein made unwanted advances towards her in a hotel room and she had to physically escape the room.
“If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn’t, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault… It was beyond a pass, it was something I had to escape,” she said.
Convicted rapist Weinstein called the allegations ‘brazenly untrue’ in a statement issued by his assistant and suggested Jolie was attempting to drum up sales for her new book, Know Your Rights and Claim Them.
