The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story has finally arrived and it is epic.
This grandiose first look reveals that it will not be a shot-for-shot copy of the award-winning 1961 original.
What does remain unchanged is the classic story of forbidden lovers Tony (Ansel Elgort) and Maria (Rachel Zegler) caught in the middle of the hatred of rival gangs.
Filming for the re-telling wrapped in 2019, but has previously seen its release delayed due to the on-going Coronavirus pandemic.
West Side Story is due to open in cinemas in the UK and US this December.
