Amy Schumer has revealed that she had to have her uterus and appendix removed because of endometriosis.
Posting a video on Instagram, the Train Wreck actress, 40, shared that the endometriosis had “attacked” her appendix.
She also told how her doctor found “30 spots of endometriosis that he removed”.
Endometriosis is a reproductive disease in which abnormal tissue grows outside the uterus. It can cause painful periods, infertility and spread to other organs outside of the uterus, as it did for Schumer.
She warned female fans to be vigilant as having “really painful periods” may be a sign of the condition.
