Jesy Nelson has revealed she ‘felt trapped’ as part of the Little Mix ‘machine’ and it was ten years of her life that she was ‘very unhappy with’.
The 30-year-old, who is now forging a solo career, also said the ‘constant comparison’ that came with being part of one of Britain’s most successful girl bands took a toll on her mental health.
Speaking on the latest episode of Reign With Josh Smith, Nelson said: “When it came to little things, like if we had to do a video and everyone had to wear bikinis and I didn’t want to wear a bikini because I felt like sh*t, I couldn’t not.”
Addressing her departure from the group last December, she said: “I really didn’t want to upset people and I didn’t want people to think that about me, but I don’t care anymore – because it was ten years of my life that I was very unhappy with and I needed to take myself out of that.”
