Five-time Olympic swimming medallist Klete Keller has pleaded guilty to storming the US Capitol during the January 6 riots.
Keller admitted to trying to obstruct Congress' certification of President Joe Biden's Electoral College victory. He also admitted yelling profanities about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
The court heard he threw away his Olympic team jacket that he wore during the riot and destroyed his phone which held photos and videos he took inside the Capitol.
The 39-year-old represented the US in the 2000, 2004 and the 2008 Summer Olympics. He now faces 21 to 27 months in prison after pleading guilty to the charge of obstruction of an official proceeding.
