India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh will hold regional elections beginning February 10. It's the largest state in India; if it were a country, it would be among the largest in the world. Continued control of the state is critical to the ruling BJP, but a spate of recent developments will test the party of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
