Brookhaven (United States) (AFP) – Demonstrators gather in Brookhaven, a Hispanic suburb of Atlanta, and New York City to protest recent immigration raids and deportations carried out by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Similar demonstrations have also sprung up in Chicago, San Francisco and Austin, after initially beginning in Los Angeles on 6 June. President Donald Trump has ordered 4,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles, along with 700 Marines, in what he has claimed is a necessary escalation to take back control — despite the insistence of local law enforcement that they could handle matters.
