Ecuadorian army drops fake cash from the sky to encourage reporting criminals

Guayaquil (Ecuador) (AFP) – A military helicopter in Ecuador drops hundreds of fake bills over the violence-stricken city of Guayaquil, each bearing a government phone number aimed at encouraging citizens to report criminals. The fake bills resemble $100 notes and feature red lettering with the messages: “Rewards for information” and “Call 131 toll-free.”
