Guayaquil (Ecuador) (AFP) – Images of the Guayaquil University Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital, where authorities are investigating the death of 12 newborns. On August 9, the Health Ministry of Ecuador announced the deaths were due to “multifactorial causes” in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Ecuadoran prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation after the Health Ministry indicated that two of the deaths may have been caused by bacterial contamination. IMAGES
