Hanamaki (Japan) (AFP) – Japan has begun deploying soldiers to the northern Akita region, which has been hit hard by a spate of deadly bear attacks. Since April, 12 deaths and more than 100 injuries have been reported, with Akita and neighbouring Iwate the regions most affected.
