Mina (Saudi Arabia) (AFP) – Muslim devotees carry out the final major ritual of the hajj pilgrimage: the symbolic stoning of the Jamarat devil in Mina, Saudi Arabia. The ritual sees pilgrims throw pebbles at pillars representing the devil, reenacting the Prophet Abraham’s stoning of the devil at three places where Satan is said to have tried to dissuade him from obeying God’s command to sacrifice his son Ishmael.
