Marfa (United States) (AFP) – Locals and NGOs are fighting back against Trump administration plans to build an enhanced border patrol system in Texas’ Big Bend National Park, which sits at the United States’ southern frontier with Mexico. The park, famed for its Santa Elena Canyon, is “one of the crown jewels of the United States National Park System,” says Jake Knight of the Big Bend Protection Alliance, who adds that “people have been treasuring this place for many, many centuries.”
