Kyiv (Ukraine) (AFP) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Starlink and Starshield are now back to their pre-restriction speeds. “The restoration began during the night, and by morning the speeds were already sufficient to use this connection,” the president says in his daily address. This comes after days of tensions with Washington over the SpaceX-made network crucial to the Ukrainian army’s operations. Kyiv relies on the civilian Starlink satellite communications system and the military-grade Starshield version as it tries to defend itself from Russian missile and drone attacks.
