Dandong (China) (AFP) – Locals and visitors to the Chinese border city of Dandong react to an unexpected visit from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Kim made a day-long, previously-unannounced trip to the area using a recently opened bridge, while tying in the trip to mark the date of Chinese troops entering the Korean War in 1950. “I hope the two sides can be more interconnected and integrated” says one retiree in Dandong. “People who were supposed to come onto the bridge and over here yesterday all had to switch to today” says another.
