Paris (AFP) – “I’ve spent the last four or five years waiting for this day,” says Zinedine Zidane after his appointment as France coach is officially announced at the headquarters of the French Football Federation (FFF). “This is an immense joy,” he adds. He replaces Didier Deschamps, whose tenure began in 2012 and ended earlier this month after France finished fourth at the World Cup.
