Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) (AFP) – As Brazil enters the final week of campaigning ahead of the presidential runoff, supporters of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva swim into the waters off Rio de Janeiro’s Praia Vermelha beach to form the word “Lula” in a show of support for his re-election bid. “I think this is the most important election in Brazil’s history,” says Lula supporter, Marcel Bosa. Meanwhile in Sao Paolo, large crowds gather for a rally in support of right-wing candidate Flavio Bolsonaro, son of Brazil’s jailed former leader.
