Polls predict a tight race to elect a senator in Texas, between Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton. A win for Talarico would mark the first election of a Democratic senator in the traditionally Republican state in almost 40 years. Democrats expect to win at least partial control of Congress in the midterm elections and impose political constraints on President Donald Trump for the first time in two years.
