The NFL has fined the Washington Football team $10 million following a workplace review.
The review, led by independent counsel Beth Wilkinson, investigated allegations of a hostile workplace culture at the team, including claims of bullying and harassment and concluded that the environment was highly unprofessional, particularly for women.
Numerous female employees had reported experiences of sexual harassment and a general lack of respect.
Washington Football Team owner Dan Snyder said in a statement that he takes responsibility for the issues. “I know that as the owner, I am ultimately responsible for the workplace,” he said, announcing that his wife Tanya would be taking over day-to-day team operations.
