Actor Regé-Jean Page has “respectfully” left the Bridgerton WhatsApp group.
The 31-year-old, who played the beloved Duke of Hastings in the historical drama’s first season, made the admission while speaking to GQ.
He told the publication that his motivation was not from spite, but to avoid putting showrunners in an “awkward situation” where they had to remove him from it after he decided to not return for the second series.
“I respectfully exited,” he explained.
Bridgerton season 2 will be released on Netflix next January.
The streaming service has already renewed the show for a third and fourth season.
