As the last few seconds of the game ticked away, Qatar SC’s 29-year-old Algerian striker Youcef Belaili dispossessed an opponent on the halfway line and chipped a sensational shot over a despairing goalkeeper into the corner of the net.
The strike, his second of the game, sealed a 2-0 win at Al Gharafa in the Qatar Stars League on Saturday.
Qatar SC, who started the day bottom of the 12-team table without a win, are now eighth, five points and five places below their hosts.
