Retail and service jobs in the United States are facing a severe shortage of labor as a high level of employees are quitting their jobs in record numbers amid the COVID-19 epidemic. More than 4.4 million Americans resigned from their jobs in September alone, which is up from 4.3 million in August, setting a record high, according to data from U.S. Department of Labor on Friday.
