A 2021 report by Chainalysis, a leading blockchain data platform, found that adoption of crypto in Africa surged 1,200% between July 2020 and June 2021. It is reported that Africa has the third-fastest growing cryptocurrency economy and has witnessed some of the highest grassroots adoption in the world, with Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Tanzania being the hubs of this booming industry.
