Bolsonaro’s former right-hand man, Mauro Cid, leaves federal police headquarters

Brasilia (AFP) – Bolsonaro’s former right-hand man, Mauro Cid, leaves the Federal Police headquarters in Brasilia, where he was questioned by police. Brazilian police arrested a former minister of Jair Bolsonaro suspected of obstructing the trial against the former president over an alleged 2022 coup attempt, according to a source involved in the investigation. Gilson Machado, former Minister of Tourism, gave a statement to the police over an alleged failed attempt to help Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid — Bolsonaro’s former right-hand man — flee the country. Cid is currently cooperating with the Supreme Court as a whistleblower and is a co-defendant in the case involving the coup plot. IMAGES
