Nuseirat (AFP) – Palestinians on trucks and donkey-pulled carts are seen on the Al-Rasheed coastal road in the central Gaza Strip as they head southwards after leaving Gaza City and the northern areas of the Strip to flee Israeli army strikes. Israel has said it intends to capture the territory’s largest urban centre, which it describes as one of the last strongholds of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, whose October 2023 attack sparked the Gaza war.
