portsudan (Sudan) (AFP) – Sudan army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan announces that “the army has withdrawn from El-Fasher”, following an announcement the city was seized by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group after more than 18 months of brutal siege warfare. The city’s capture gives the group control over every state capital in the vast Darfur region.
