London (AFP) – Thousands gather to watch the lighting ceremony of Trafalgar Square’s Christmas tree in London, gifted by Norway in a yearly tradition going back to 1947. Mayor of Oslo Anne Lindboe says the 20-metre spruce is “a symbol of friendship”, adding that “in these troubled times that we’re living in, I think that’s more important than ever”.
