Beijing (AFP) – “China opposes interference in other countries’ internal affairs,” says the country’s foreign ministry, following threats by the Israeli military against Iran’s new supreme leader. The threats came after Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Iran’s late supreme leader Ali Khamenei, was named as his father’s successor. “Iran’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity should be respected,” says Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry.
