Nuwakot (AFP) – “We are survivors of the flood and are staying here, thinking that there will be something for survivors like us. I do not have my father and brother. My mother was killed in the 2015 earthquake,” says 30-year-old Tara Maya Tamang who is staying at a temporary relief centre in Trishuli, in Nepal’s Nuwakot. The August 26 glacial and mountain collapse on the China-Nepal border has killed at least 1,372 people and left more than 5,500 missing across the two countries.
