Israel’s military says it has destroyed one third of Iran’s surface-to-surface missile launchers, as strikes between the two arch foes enter a fourth day.
Verona (Italy) (AFP) – Two tourists are captured on CCTV footage breaking a crystal-covered chair displayed at an art museum in Verona and then fleeing once the damage became apparent. The “Van Gogh” chair by artist Nicola Bolla was described by the Palazzo Maffei museum as “extremely fragile” and covered in “a myriad of Swarovski crystal.”
Palma (Spain) (AFP) – Thousands of local demonstrators take part in a protest against mass tourism and house prices in Spain’s Palma de Mallorca. Similar protests were staged in tourist hotspots across southern Europe.
Barcelona (AFP) – Protesters take to the streets of Barcelona to demonstrate against mass tourism, firing water pistols at tourists and putting stickers and cordon tape on hostels. Around 600 people protested to demand a limit on tourism, according to the Barcelona police force.

London (AFP) – A rare oil painting of Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi, believed to have been damaged by a Hindu nationalist activist, is to be auctioned in July. Gandhi, one of the most influential figures in India’s history who led a non-violent movement against British rule and inspired similar resistance campaigns across the world, is the subject of tens of thousands of artworks, books and films. But a 1931 painting by British-American artist Clare Leighton is believed to be the only oil portrait he sat for, according to the painter’s family who have had the painting since it was created.
