Vatican City (AFP) – Pope Francis urges against a “spiral of violence” after Iran’s unprecedented missile and drone attack on Israel, warning of a potential regional conflagration. Iran’s overnight barrage from late Saturday was its first-ever direct assault on Israeli territory and came in retaliation for a deadly strike on Tehran’s consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus.

Israeli military says 99% of Iranian ‘threats’ have been intercepted

Deadly Sydney shopping mall attack leaves six dead
