Tim Burton presents new and ‘exciting’ exhibition in Italy’s Turin

Turin (Italy) (AFP) – American filmmaker and animator Tim Burton presents an exhibition of his work in the Mole Antonelliana in Turin, northern Italy. “The World of Tim Burton” features hundreds of drawings, photographs, set props and memorabilia from Burton’s extensive back catalogue, which includes films like ‘Beetlejuice’, ‘Nightmare before Christmas’ and the recent Netflix series ‘Wednesday’.

French artist Saype paints mural on Turkey earthquake rubble

Antakya (Turkey) (AFP) – Artist Saype, known for his murals around the world, unveils a piece painted on rubble in the southern Turkish city Antakya, devastated by February’s deadly quake. The February 6 quake in Turkey and war-ravaged Syria killed more than 55,000 people and left thousands homeless and reliant on international assistance.

Study finds young frogs may camouflage selves as animal poo

Vienna (AFP) – A study in Vienna has found that the young offspring of a frog native to Southeast Asia could be camouflaging itself as animal poo to escape predators. Researchers have noticed that juvenile Wallace’s flying frogs display unusual colour patterns as they grow. Bright red when young, white spots appear on their backs and fade away after one year. When they have matured into adults, the flying frogs are green.

Lebanese soldiers, UN peacekeepers on southern border with Israel

Kfar Kila (Lebanon) (AFP) – Lebanese army soldiers and peacekeepers of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) gather along the border with Israel. Israel has traded fire with Hezbollah and allied Palestinians factions in Lebanon in recent days, although the skirmishes remain limited. The tit-for-tat attacks come after war erupted between Israel and militant group Hamas on 7 October.
