Nusa Dua (Indonesia) (AFP) – Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, says that Ukraine’s conditions for restarting talks with Moscow are “unrealistic”. Speaking at the G20 summit, where pressure is mounting on Russia to end the conflict, he says “all problems are with the Ukrainian side, which is categorically refusing negotiations and putting forward conditions that are obviously unrealistic”. Lavrov says he made this position clear during a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Kyiv (Ukraine) (AFP) – Speaking to the G20 summit in Bali, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is “convinced now is the time when Russia’s destructive war must, and can, be stopped”. He also suggests that an “all for all” prisoner swap with Russia is the “only realistic model”.

On Friday, Russia withdrew around 30,000 troops from the southern Kherson region.

Istanbul (AFP) – An attack on Sunday targeted the beating heart of Istanbul, Turkey’s main city and economic capital, killing at least six people and injuring dozens. On Monday morning, Istanbul Police released footage of a young woman being arrested in connection with the attack, which Turkish authorities have accused the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) of being behind.
