Iguala de la Independencia (Mexico) (AFP) – Protesters use a stolen Pepsi truck to break into the Palace of Justice in Iguala de la Independencia, Mexico’s Guerrero state, where they throw firecrackers and rocks, and set the truck on fire. The demonstrators are demanding justice for the 43 students who disappeared in 2014, after investigators branded the atrocity a “state crime” involving the military and other institutions.

Camera trap captures rare footage of rhino calf in Indonesia

Ujung Kulon (Indonesia) (AFP) – Indonesian officials release rare footage of a Javan rhino calf captured using camera trap at the Ujung Kulon National Park, the mammals’ last remaining wild habitat in the world. The Javan rhino is the world’s rarest rhino with fewer than 80 left in the world, according to the National Park.

Hundreds of people protest Japan’s Abe state funeral

Tokyo (AFP) – Hundreds of protesters against the state funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe gather in a street near the Nippon Budokan ahead of the state funeral. Abe, Japan’s longest-serving prime minister, was shot dead on July 8 while campaigning, and a publicly funded state funeral honouring him will be held on September 27. IMAGES
