Argentina garbage recyclers protest outside Coca-Cola HQ

Buenos Aires (AFP) – Amidst a mountain of empty bottles, garbage recyclers protest in front of the Coca-Cola headquarters in Buenos Aires as part of their demand for a “packaging law” that introduces the principle of extended producer responsibility. “We are the only ones who put our hands in the garbage to recover what this company puts into the environment”, says one recycler during the demonstration.

The democratic island’s leader regularly visits her troops amid a heightened threat of Chinese invasion, with Beijing claiming sovereignty over a territory it considers as one of its provinces.
